Wear and Remembrance Vintage Apparel Fair 2005

The 15th Annual Wear and Remembrance Vintage Apparel Fair will take place in April, at the Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds. This is one of the County Museum's three main annual fundraising events.

It operates exactly like an antique show, with about 30 dealers from all over the West bringing their amazing variety of vintage clothing and accessories that are available for purchase. A renewed interest in vintage dressing brings visitors from all over northern California to Franklin Hall. Both men and women will find a vast choice of yesterday's styles. Whether you seek a vintage outfit to complement your antique auto or even the perfect wedding gown that will be truly one-of-a-kind, this is the place to shop.

Request for Proposal (RFP) - Notice to Vendors

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT sealed proposals shall be received for a “1 ton Commercial Cutaway Van” until 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2005, by the County of Sutter, State of California, in the office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 1160 Civic Center Blvd., Suite A, Yuba City, California 95993, at which time they will be publicly opened. The “vehicle” is more particularly described in the specifications and related documents, which may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Division at (530) 822-7473 between 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday or by visiting our website at www.suttercounty.org. Vendors utilizing mail services are encouraged to have packages delivered two business days prior to the proposal opening in order to allow for internal mail sorting, routing and delivery. Further, packages submitted via Fed Ex, UPS, or other carrier service shall be enclosed in an envelope clearly marked “VEHICLE BID”. It is the responsibility of the vendor to ensure proposals are in the custody of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at the designated time of opening. No late proposals, or those submitted via facsimile (fax), shall be accepted.
Classification and Naming of Peace Valley – April 8th, 2005

The California State Park & Recreation Commission has given notice that a hearing will be held Friday, April 8th, 2005, beginning at 9:00 AM, in the first floor Auditorium of the State of California Resources Agency Building, 1416 9th Street, in Sacramento. The hearing will be held to allow the Commission to take public comment on the Department of Parks & Recreation’s recommendations to name and classify the 1,785 acre property acquired by the State in 2003 as “Sutter Buttes State Park.” A copy of the public notice and the report containing the Department’s recommendations may be found by following the link below.

Bright Futures wins Act of Caring Award

The Sutter County Children and Families Commission health screening project for children under six years of age, Bright Futures, was recently notified that it had won an “Act of Caring Award” given by the National Association of Counties. Each year the National Association of Counties, (NACO) gives 18 awards in six categories nationally for county government sponsored programs that utilize volunteers to improve the efforts of county government. The Acts of Caring Awards recognize the top county volunteer programs in the country. The awards program is carried out by the National Association of Counties in partnership with Nationwide Retirement Solutions.

Sutter County Supervisor Dan Silva, Program Manager Deborah Coulter RN, and program Staff Bev Dal Porto and Rupi Dail will attend the award Ceremony April 13, 2005 at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington DC to receive the award.
