USDA Secretarial Disaster Designation

Sutter County has been included in a Secretarial disaster designation by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture due to agricultural losses caused by adverse weather conditions that occurred from August 1, 2003 through October 31, 2003.
WIC Works at the Farmer's Market

WIC, the Women, Infants, and Children program, is a nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new mothers and young children eat well and stay healthy. In an effort to increase intake of fresh fruits and vegetables for Sutter County WIC participants, Sutter County WIC provides vouchers for the local Farmers' Market during the months of June through August for purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. Farmers' market coupons are available beginning during the month of June. Call your WIC office for information at 822-7224.

The California Department of Aging offers Farmers' Market coupons for eligible senior citizens as well. For more information, please call 916-486-1876.
