The new January exhibit revolves around a beautiful turn in the Feather River known
to us as Shanghai Bend. The mere name conjures up exotic images of times past, as
we speculate about the origins of its name.
River, City and Sky:

County location through the stunning photographs of talented local photographer Tim
Shanghai Bend will open with a reception Friday, January 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Admission is free. The exhibit will remain through February 27. Come to the

Sutter County Museum - Children's Program and Open House
December 02, 2004
Put aside some time in your hectic holiday schedule for a time-honored special event
at the museum. The Children's Program and Open House takes place on Sunday,
December 19 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Christmas stories are read, followed by the merry
(and sometimes outrageous) music of John Carter. Cookies, hot cider and punch are
served. Carols on the player piano lend a festive air, and the Museum Store is open
for last minute shopping. This free event is open to children of all ages and is a
delightful holiday family time.
