Program primarily for adults with serious psychiatric disabilities. Classes include arts
and crafts, independent living skills, prevocational skills and basic academic skills.

Bi-County Elder Services Team (BEST)
BEST
serves older adults (60+) with psychiatric disabilities who may be physically or
geographically isolated, and determined to be unserved or underserved residents of
Sutter or Yuba counties.
BEST
works in collaboration with individuals, their families,
social service agencies, public health, the medical community, senior centers, law

Community Support Services
Staff provide support for adults and children with serious psychiatric disabilities who
live independently in family care homes, or with their families, and require follow up

Day Treatment Program for Adults
Psycho-education for clients with serious psychiatric disabilities. Services available to
both outpatients and in-patients of the psychiatric health facility. Program includes
structured groups with focus on cognitive skills, social skills, medication management,
education and prevocational skills stressing functional living in the community. For

Day Treatment Program for Youth
Sutter-Yuba Mental Health sponsors children and adolescent day treatment programs in
conjunction with school SED classrooms. For additional information contact the principal

Family Assistance Service Team (FAST)
Assists individuals requesting services from the Department of Human Services. This team
provides assessment, treatment, resolution, referral and informational services. Contact

Family Intervention Team (Children System of Care)
Sutter and Yuba Counties provides services to youth and famililes utilizing a multi-agency
team design. Services are available to youth and families after agreement of all parties.

Homeless Program
Services for the homeless mentally ill are provided through contract with a local community

Mental Health Board
The Sutter Yuba Mental Health Board is an advisory board comprised of consumers of mental
health care, their families, and interested parties from the community. The Board meets
monthly on the first Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at 1965 Live Oak Boulevard, Yuba City, CA. The
public is welcome to attend.
Outpatient Treatment
Services for adults, children and adolescents including individual therapy, group therapy,

Patient Rights Advocate
Patients, family members and friends of patients have an Advocate Available to support

Psychiatric Emergency
Provides 24 hour evaluation and assistance to individuals experiencing severe emotional
distress or acute problems related to psychiatric disabilities. Interested parties can call

Oak Boulevard, Yuba City, CA.
Psychiatric In-patient Services
Acute psychiatric in-patient care for those over 18 years. Persons under the age of 18 are
assessed and referred to psychiatric hospitals in the Sacramento area if indicated. For

Yuba-Sutter Alliance for the Mentally Ill
YSAMI is the local chapter of the California Alliance for the Mentally Ill (CAMI). Their
mission is to provide education and awareness for the greater understanding and compassion
of individuals with mental illness and provide support to family members and consumers.
Regular Board meetings are held monthly on the second Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Mental
Health building located at 1965 Live Oak Boulevard, Yuba City, CA 95991. The public is
