The Water Resources Division is responsible for a number of programs including:

Flood Plain Management (NFIP/CRS, FEMA Remapping, supporting the Sutter-Butte Flood Control Agency, plan review for construction compliance);

The Sutter County Water Agency (Master Drainage Plan, Drainage Zones of Benefit, Live Oak Canal repair/upgrades, plan review for drainage components;
-
Water Quality (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System [NPDES] compliance);
-
Groundwater Management Plan development;
-
Provide Utility Services to:
-
Water Works District No. 1 (Water treatment and distribution, Wastewater collection, treatment and disposal);
-
Rio Ramaza Community Services District (Wastewater collection, treatment and disposal);
-
Participating in the East Nicolaus Mutual Water Company;
-
Liaison for water-related permits (DWR, USACE, RWQCB, CA Fish & Game, Central Valley Flood Protection Board).
