Stormwater Management and Discharge Control Ordinance
The Public Works Department is posting the DRAFT Stormwater Management and
Discharge Control Ordinance on our website for public comment. Our department
will recommend to the Board of Supervisors that they adopt this new ordinance
in order to comply with state and federal requirements. The purpose and intent
of this ordinance is to protect and enhance the water quality of watercourses
and water bodies within the urban portions of the unincorporated areas of the
County in a manner consistent with the Clean Water Act, the Porter-Cologne
Water Quality Control Act, and the County Stormwater Management Program, by
reducing pollutants in stormwater discharges to the maximum extent practicable
and by prohibiting non-stormwater discharges from entering the storm drain
system. We are making available the draft ordinance for review and comment by
the general public, local consulting engineers and local developers. Please
