At Work: The Art of California Labor
The exhibit runs for seven weeks, from September 1 to October 22, 2006.
The exhibit explores the artists and images of labor movements
in California, delivering a powerful examination of labor history in our
state since the turn of the 20th century. It takes the visitor on a journey
from early events and conditions that led to the rise of organized labor to
issues surrounding the farm workers' movements.
At Work features many of the Golden State's most noted artists.
The exhibit includes high quality reproductions of historical works by Diego
Rivera, Dorothea Lange, Tina Modotti and many others, as well as original
art from contemporary artists such as Yolanda Lopez, Ester Hernandez and
Francisco Dominguez.
Opening Program:
"Woodie Guthrie and His Times" with David Fenimore, September 29 at 7:00 p.m.

"A Thousand Words" is an exhibit of artwork presented by the students of the Art
Department of Yuba City High School. It is a multimedia exhibit consisting of many
different art forms and has been described as both vibrant and energetic.
The exhibit runs for three weeks, from April 28 to May 7. There will be an opening
reception on Friday, Arpil 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
